Fall Showcases and Camps

Under Head Coach Casey Dunn the Samford baseball has become one of Top Power Hitting baseball programs in the nation over the last decade and built the teams success around player development. Samford's Casey Dunn Baseball camps have had amazing growth every year for all ages and are player centered. The camps are designed to teach each player the fundamentals while also insuring that the player leaves the camp having had a great time with postive thoughts about baseball. Camps feature low player-to-coach ratio to allow for personalized instruction for best possible growth for the players REGARDLESS OF ABILITY LEVEL. The Samford Baseball Coaching staff invites you to attend its baseball camps this summer. There are camps for all ages designed specifically for the players in those age groups to maximize their camp experience to become better players and enjoy the game.

Update (June 22, 2020): We held our first camp on June 15-18 with overwhelming success. Along with a number of other safety measures and spacing, our trainer used a no touch Thermometer every morning on our staff arriving early and every camper as they arrived at the camp. We will continue with these measures moving forward as we try to do our part to keep everyone safe.

Update (May 22, 2020): After the update from Governor Ivey opening the state to include camps and sports activities, we are set to host our camps this summer - 5 Youth, 2 Middle School, and 1 High School dates are set.  We continue to monitor all things related to the COVID-19 / Coronavirus to create the safest environment possible for the aspects we can control as we are all exited to get back out on the baseball field. We are excited to be hosting all Youth and Middle School Camps at Homewood City Park Fields off West Oxmoor in Homewood. There are a number of separate turfed fields, cage areas, dugouts with covered options as well that will allow us to spread out the campers to help with safety.

Update (June 8, 2020)The World Health Organization announced their findings COVID 19 is less likely, but not impossible, to be transmitted from people that are not showing symptons from the virus. Please be mindful of symptons associated with the virus (fever, cough, shortness of breath) and keep them home if any or all of these symptons surface.

Anyone that has signed up for the camps and is unable to attend for any reason (change of plans, family travel, sickness, virus concerns), we will be happy to transfer those funds to a future camp. The process is a very easy one to transfer.

Information and details for some of the planned changes and precautions are listed here:

Camp Safety Changes for 2020

homepageThe Samford Baseball team won back to back Southern Conference Championships in 2018 and 2019, and had the best record in the league at 13-2 when the 2020 season was cut short. In 2018 the team defeated #7 Florida State in the NCAA Tournament before falling to Mississippi State 9-8 to end their season. The program has the most wins and highest winning percentage of any team in the state of Alabama over the last 9 seasons while having 30 players drafted in the MLB draft in that period of time.  It also has hit more home runs the last two seasons than any team in the country while finishing in the top 10 in the nation from 2011-2017 seasons. Competing in the Southern Conference, the program has reached the Championship game of the tournament 5 times in 8 years. Of those 30 players, 8 were considered impact drafts in the top 10 rounds - including Philip Ervin as a 1st Round Pick to the Reds.

A large number of our current and former players will help make up our staff for the camps.

We invite you to join us for an outstanding baseball experience with Samford Baseball.

Casey Dunn Baseball Camps are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).
